Raised on the Coal Coast of NSW, Timothy James Bowen is a singer-songwriter with an unforgettable voice who lays his soul bare with every word.
Despite the challenges of 2020/2021, Timothy had an extraordinary year appearing in the Top 8 on The Voice where two of his own songs were featured on the program, embarked on a national tour with ARIA award winning artist, Fanny Lumsden, played sold out headline shows down the east coast and capped off the year by performing for both Channel 9’s Rural Aid live event ‘Goodonya Mate’ in November and their revered Christmas special ‘Carol’s By Candlelight’. Most recently in October of this year, he featured on Christie Lamb’s new single, ‘Up All Night’ - a song he co-wrote with Christie and her husband, Jonathan, at the end of 2020.
Having spent recent years juggling health challenges and criss-crossing the globe penning songs with music industry heavyweights, he is a performer who has lived through more in the last few years than many expect to in a lifetime. Bowen was nominated for Live Voice of the Year at the 2018 National Live Music Awards, made multiple appearances at the Grand Ole Opry (USA) and has embarked on multiple U.S., U.K. & Australian tours with his sister, Clare Bowen. He received two top 40 placement’s in the Vanda & Young songwriting competition for 2018/19 and following his personal battle with cancer in 2015, he became a Cancer Council Ambassador and was awarded Cancer Council NSW High Profile Ambassador of the Year in 2019. Timothy has released a plethora of music under his own banner, written several songs for US and Australian TV series’ 'Nashville' (US), 'Instinct' (US) and Channel 7’s, ‘Winners & Losers’, as well as penning campaign songs for both Virgin Mobile and Cancer Council.
With a bumper year ahead, an album in the works and a national tour planned for Summer 2022, Timothy will be one to watch in the months ahead.
